Presentation title

Spin Dynamics and Magnetotransport in Ultra-Low Damping Co100-xFex Layers

Luis Avilés is a researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) in Argentina. His research activities are conducted at the Magnetic Resonance Laboratory in the Physics Department of Centro Atómico Bariloche. He obtained his degree in Physics in 2010 from the Faculty of Science at the National University of Engineering in Lima, Peru. In 2011, he moved to Argentina and earned his Ph.D. in Physics in 2015 from Instituto Balseiro / Cuyo’s National University, supported by a CONICET fellowship. From 2016 to 2018, he carried out his first postdoctoral research at the Magnetic Resonance Laboratory of Centro Atómico Bariloche, focusing on the generation and detection of spin currents using synthetic antiferromagnets. His second postdoctoral position, from 2018 to 2020, took place at the SPINTEC laboratory of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in Grenoble, France, where he worked on developing optically switchable synthetic ferrimagnetic materials and integrating them into magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) structures. His current research at the Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Department focuses on spin dynamics in low-dimensional systems and magnetotransport in micro- and nanostructures.
