Weiyao Zhao received the Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from the University of Wollongong, in 2021. He joined Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Monash University in 2021 as a research fellow. His research focuses on the use of multiple crystal growth methods to fabricate high-quality single crystals and study the magnetic, electronic and lattice dynamic properties of them. During PhD research, he worked on the electronic structure and transport properties of magnetic ion doped topological insulators. Since 2018, Weiyao broadened his research in neutron scattering area. Weiyao was awarded the Postgraduate Research Award in 2020, Early Career Research Grant in 2022 for his neutron scattering research in topological materials. He has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed papers which have been cited over 500 times. He has participated over 10 international conferences and workshops.
